Can I get my proper prescription in readymade reading glasses?

Specs on the Spot recommends that you get your prescription from your optometrist or ophthalmologist. Once you have this prescription then ready made reading glasses can be easily purchased at affordable prices. If you have had an eye exam recently but forgot your prescription a good general rule for selecting the proper power is as follows: Take your age and subtract 35 and then put a decimal point in between the two figures and round up to the nearest 0 or 5. For example, if you are 50, subtract 35, which equal 15 then put a decimal point in between the 1 and 5 so your power is a +1.5. If you are 47, subtract 35 that equal 12 or 1.2. Round to +1.0. Remember that this is a general rule and not a full proof method for prescribing reading glasses.
